    The Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce (SHAIC) is the authority responsible for market surveillance and law enforcement concerning industry and commerce in Shanghai.

     SHAIC consists of 15 internal divisions, including the Administrative Office ,the Legal Affairs Division, the Personnel Division, the Financial Division, the Enterprise Registration Division, the Registration Division of Foreign Invested Enterprises, the Market Entity Credit Surveillance Division, the Fair Trade Division, the Direct Selling Regulation and Against Pyramid Scheme Division, the Online Trade & Market Regulation Surveillance Division, the Consumer Rights Protection Division, the Trademark Surveillance Division, the Advertising Surveillance Division, the Contract Surveillance Division and the Grass-roots Work Guidance Division. In addition, SHAIC has 1 district-level branch and 1 Investigation Team.
